Cellular Trail Cams Send Pictures To Your Phone
Cellular trail cameras are the newest way to utilize technology for scouting wildlife. Cellular game cams are sometimes referred to as wireless cams as well, however that is not completely accurate. Cellular is a much better name for them because they send pictures directly to your cell phone via a cellular network such as 4G or LTE. Most require a paid data plan but there are some that send some pictures for free.
Keep in mind the pros and cons below while searching for an inexpensive cellular camera. The cameras on this page should fit most budgets. We tried to compile a list of the of the most affordable, but still the best wireless trail cameras under $200. The table above includes multiple features and prices for comparison.
The Pros And Cons Of A Cellular Trail Camera
Cell Cams offer many advantages over traditional trail cams.
- Send pictures direct to your phone or mobile device.
- No need to disturb the woods
- Fast trigger speed
- Decent picture quality
The only disadvantage is the additional monthly cost so they can transmit data over a wireless network. Some wireless trail cameras do have lower battery life because of the additional functionality. Keep in mind that not all cell cams have similar features. For example only certain cameras record HD video and then only a couple of those cameras record HD video with audio. If you need HD video, we compare a list of cameras that are capable of it on this page.
